Warriors RP

As I woke up, I stretched my paws out.  I rolled over and got up onto my paws, looking at all the herbs around me.  I began to walk out the door, my tail swishing, my mind jumping.  I wondered what adventures I'd go on today, or what new herbs I encountered.  Many cats would think a life like this was boring, but I thought it was exciting!  And it was a lot nicer than fighting other cats.  I just couldn't stand the thought of fighting.  Why would anyone cross over onto our land, anyway?  I stepped out of the den and stretched my paws.

Dawnflame padded towards Petalpaw. "I want you to look for marigold as your first assignment," she ordered, looking at the herb shelf. "Gather as much as you can. There should be a lot, since it's newleaf." she added.

"Yes, Dawnflame." I walk along, smelling the air of newleaf.  Who knows what might happen today.

Dawnflame sighed and looked at her herb shelf again. "I'll check on the catmint," she muttered, padding out of her den.

I was more than happy to have already found some marigold, so early on the mssion. I plucked it up with my teeth and held it carefully, walking along the way.  One minor sniff and a whiff of a mixture crawled up into your nose. Herbs and flowers, fresh dewdrops rolling into the fresh, soft soil, the sun burning the trees and the breeze whistling  as you moved.  If only the warriors could care about this delicate, wonderous enviorment.

Dawnflame padded out of the camp, stretching as the sun warmed her fur. She quikly trotted to the twoleg garden where she had planted her catmint. Examining them carefully, she decided that they were healthy. "There's always so less to do, and so much free time," she murmured to herself, "Unless there's a war." She shook her head. All was going well with the other clans. How could a war possibly break out?

Petalpaw padded over to Dawnflame and dropped some already collected marigold on the floor.  She looked eager.  "When will you teach me to make medicine?" She had always wanted to learn, but it seemed impossible to get Dawnflame to teach her, after all, she was always a bit to shy to ask.  But now, seeing they had so much free time, maybe Dawnflame could teach her a trick or two.

"Sure!" Dawnflame replied cheerfully, immediately starting her lesson on herbs. "Now, most herbs are chewed up and its poultice is squeezed on the patient." she began, nodding at Petalpaw's marigold. "For example, you can chew up marigold and place it on a wound to stop infections."

"That's very interesting.  Also quick, so it's helpful..."  I was looking at the herbs, smiling shyly.

"Also, sometimes the patient must chew it. For example, if a cat chews on alder, it reduces pain from toothaches." Dawnflame continued. "It's important to keep herbs in the shade, too, to keep it from drying." She lectured, immediately jumping to another subject.

I quickly followed her, taking notes in my mind.  Don't leave in the sun, some need to be chewed, some can just be rubbed on.

"Here are some common herbs," Dawnflame continued, hoping her apprentice would get everything down, "Cobwebs are for stopping blood." She explained, nodding at a pile of cobwebs sitting in the corner.

"Very useful."  Petalpaw nodded, padding along.  The smells of all the herbs and common items rolled into her nose.

"And marigold is for stopping infections," Dawnflame mewed, glancing at Petalpaw's fresh marigold.

I lifted my head up, smiling proudly.

"Catmint is for greencough and whitecough," Dawnflame continued, "It's pretty rare, but greencough and whitecough only really start spreading in leaf-bare." she added.

"That's nice to know."

Dawnfalame smiled at her apprentice's enthusiasm.

P.S. Sorry I had school work to do

I know knew more about herbs, and I was ready for a war- but I hoped one wouldn't start.  Things were so nice.

"Feverfew can cure fevers," Dawnflame said.
